Thanks for your interest in visiting Misty Maple Hollow!
We love sharing our farm-fresh eggs and animals with the community. For the health and safety of our flock (and as part of our National Poultry Improvement Plan participation), we follow strict biosecurity practices. The area behind our fences/gate, where our animals are kept, is closed to the public. If you’re coming to pick up animals, we have a pick-up area (see more info below) and the animals will be brought out to you.
Here’s what to know for each type of visit:
Farmstand & Table Eggs
Our self-serve roadside farmstand is open Thursday through Monday, from 10am until sunset, or until we sell out for the day.
We post stock updates on our Facebook Page.
We accept cash and Venmo (@route12eggs)
We primarily sell farm-fresh eggs, but will occasionally have seasonal goods like veggie starts, fresh produce, halloween pumpkins, or fresh-cut flowers. If we have those, we will post them on both our Facebook Page and our Weekly Availability page.
Chickens and Rabbits
Chicken and rabbit pick-ups are by appointment only. Please don’t show up without one – this is also our home, and since we work off the farm too, we won’t be able to help you without a scheduled time.
We have a pick-up area behind the farmstand, in front of our garage. All animals will be brought out to you.
When you arrive, we will either be waiting in the pick-up area or will be back collecting your animals. If you don’t see us right away, please text (774-314-7738) to let us know you’re here.
Please park in the driveway and stay on this side of the fence/gate.
If you have your dog with you, please do not let them out of the vehicle. There is a public conservation area just up the road that has some benches and an area your dog can use if they need to go to the bathroom. We do not have a public bathroom.
Please bring a proper carrier for the animal you are picking up.
Young chicks still on heat – boxes with ventilation holes work best here, as the solid sides can help keep the chicks warm on the way home. A dwarf chick is about the size of a large egg, and a standard chick is about the size of a lemon.
Started pullets – boxes, cat crates, or dog crates. Think softball to football size!
Rabbits – boxes, cat crates, or dog crates. Some cat crates can be too small, so just make sure it’s big enough if you’re bringing home a large rabbit.
Haven’t paid ahead of time? We accept cash or Venmo at pick-up.
Directions and Parking
We are located at 198 Ashburnham State Rd, Westminster MA, which is Route 12 between Fitchburg and Ashburnham.
If you’re coming from downtown Ashburnham, we’re about a 4 minute drive towards Fitchburg from town center. If you’re coming from Fitchburg, we’re on the left a little bit past the farm up on the hill, but before you hit Dean Hill and Jewel Hill Road. If you hit Ashburnham center, you went about 4 minutes too far.
You can park anywhere in the driveway or along the side of the road.
